Since becoming CEO more than a decade ago, David King has led the transformation of LabCorp (NYSE: LH) from a leading national laboratory to a global leader in life sciences. LabCorp is the world’s largest clinical laboratory and second-largest drug development business, employing nearly 61,000 people worldwide, and delivering more than $11 billion in revenue in 2018. With a mission to improve health and improve lives, LabCorp delivers world-class diagnostic solutions, brings innovative medicines to patients faster, and uses technology to improve the delivery of care.

King joined LabCorp in 2001 as senior vice president, general counsel, and chief compliance officer, and held several executive positions before becoming CEO. He is the board chair of PATH, a nonprofit global health organization, and was appointed in 2017 to the advisory board for Duke University’s Robert J. Margolis, MD, Center for Health Policy. In addition, he serves on the boards of Elon University in Elon, North Carolina; the Seattle Science Foundation; and the American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA), where he served as chair from 2010 to 2014.

King graduated cum laude from Princeton University and obtained his Juris doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
